このブログを始めたきっかけ The reasons why I started this blog.

私は日本人女性で、これまで、パリ、シンガポールに住み、現在アメリカに住んでいます。この夏、夫のふるさとの栃木県にある、鬼怒川へ温泉旅行をしました。本当に料理が美味しくて、ホテルは安く、温泉では肌がツルツルになり大満足でしたが、少子高齢化に伴う地方経済の衰退は目を覆うほど。電車もがらがらで、このまま放っておいては廃線になってしまうと心配になりました。地方には観光資源がたくさんあります。宝の持ち腐れになる前になんとか外国人観光客を呼び込めないものかと思いました。
トリップアドバイザーの外国人にレビューを見てみると、でてくる、でてくる、「英語の案内が全くない！」「駅で迷った」という不満。それなら観光地の案内を友達と英語、中国語、韓国語にも訳そう。９月からは学校に行こうと思っていましたが、そちらの方が勉強になるし、社会貢献にもなります。何かいいアドバイスがある人、教えてください。ちなみに、友人が困ったのは、「在来線に乗り換えた途端、英語がまったく通じなくなった」 というものです。外国人と地方の高齢者をつなぐ方法はいかに。

      I am a Japanese translator. I used to live in Paris and Singapore. Now I live in the USA.
      This summer, I spent 2 days in Tokyo and 5 days in the Tochigi Prefecture, which is not far from Tokyo. 

• We went to the Kinugawa onsen (hot spring), which is near Nikko.
• The food was super delicious and the onsen hotel was inexpensive. The hot spring water made my skin very smooth and sleek. 
• We are very happy but we are very sorry that these onsens (hot spring hotels) are not easy for foreign visitors to access. 
• The local economy is shrinking due to the decreasing younger population.
• The trains are very empty and some may discontinue in the future if we leave the situation be. 
• I wonder how we can open these touristic resources of the countryside in Japan to foreign visitors.
• I checked the reviews on Trip Advisor to find many complaints saying, "Nothing is written in English," or "Wrong information at the train station," and so on.
• I decided to translate the information with my friends into English, Chinese, and Korean for free tickets at the facilities or the hotels.
• I was planning to start going to a school from September onwards but I can improve my English as well as contribute to society with this project.
• If you have any idea or advice, please let me know. 
• My friends complained that "Once you get off a local train, there are no English sign boards or English-speaking people
• How can foreign visitors and local old people communicate each other?
